The qualified staff at CARS promptly processes each reported incident. Each incident is triaged into one of the two categories; incidents that require further investigation and the incidents that do not. For incidents that require further investigation, a phone call is scheduled with the facility/provider designee to obtain more detailed information on the incident before a PSWP is developed. All other incidents are deidentified and stored in the relational database for future data analysis and benchmarking.
